PAINTING PROCESS

Sketching Stage

I will send a rough sketch to you, the Client, for approval. All revisions of the image’s general idea must be made during this stage of the process. Once agreed upon, I will move on to painting. Please note, that major changes made at later stages, if accepted, will result in additional charges that must be paid upfront.

Painting Stage

I will provide you at least one (1) e-mail update of noteworthy progress for your approval. During this stage only small changes may be requested. Minor changes include slight colour changes or small points of interest like jewellery. Once agreed upon, I will move on to polishing the image. Please note that any major changes regarding general idea of the image are impossible at this stage.

Polishing Stage

At this point the commission will be mostly completed, but I’ll add some special visual effects such as air particles, noise or light glow. If the Client requests the Artwork be substantially remade during this stage, it will be treated as a separate commission and additional fees will apply.

Revisions

The Artwork price quoted does NOT include an unlimited number of revisions. Only two (2) rounds of adjustments are included in the price

• sketch stage – major adjustments can be made only during this phase

• painting stage – small changes after the first update of progress

This is to provide the best pricing possible and to ensure the Artwork is delivered within a timely manner.

Testimonials

Marlena is an absolute joy to work with. Her art is simply beautiful. Combine this with her professional attitude, and she’d be an asset to any project!

– Dr. Julian Darius, Sequart Organization and Martian Lit

Commissioning Marlena is so easy! She is helpful and patient. She explain everything in the details and suggest so many options to choose from! I’ve received over ten process updates, and she still was able to surprised me with the final image! I’ll commission her again for sure!

– Christy Rigg

It was my absolute pleasure to work with Marlena.  First off she was extremely fast; from the time I first contacted her to completed work was just a matter of days. While that is great, more importantly, she took all my random ideas, vague descriptions, and samples and made something beautiful.  It was like she was able to see exactly what I wanted and turned it into reality.  She captured the essence of my character better than I could have described.  It was a wonderful experience to have her take something I only saw in my mind’s eye and make it into something I could others.  Would commission her again in a heartbeat.

– Timothy S. Brannan, The Other Side

Working with Marlena is, quite frankly, a JOY! She listens to all of your ideas and explains her process as well as keeping you updated regularly. The end result is always what I want and so much more, her interpretation of the character or scene is spot on and better than I could have ever hoped for.”

– Kiara Feldman, writer

Marlena is professional and easy to approach with a request. I filled out her commission form and she sprang into action. I received regular updates on how the work was progressing and I am entirely satisfied with the end result.
